AKG MICROPHONES - Modular - Reinforcement

AKG DAM (Discreet Acoustics Modular system), and DAM+ families offer back electret capsule modules and compatible 'installation' modules – a mix of goosenecks and hanging modules. Designed for sound and speech reinforcement, these microphones offer a wide range of applications. The small size of the components and matt dark grey finish permits a very discreet appearance. DAM+ series have a smaller diameter and are therefore more suited to positions where discretion is of more importance.

All 'installation' modules have a phantom power status LED that indicates correct connection; those for fixed wiring also allow this to indicate microphone on/off. DAM series phantom power adapters accept 9-52V phantom power and have an integrated 250Hz bass roll-off filter.

GN15, GN30, GN50

Available in lengths of 160mm (GN15), 305mm (GN30), and 500mm (GN50), these goosenecks are designed for permanent installation and have external DPA in-line XLR phantom power adapters. 3-pin XLR termination. GN15 has a single flexible gooseneck section, whilst GN30 and GN50 each have two flexible sections either side of a fixed straight section.

GN15 E, GN30 E, GN50 E

GN series goosenecks with a suffix of ‘E’ are designed for temporary installation and feature an integrated phantom power module adapter. PS 3 F-Lock panel mounts sockets aid fixing. Available in lengths of 235mm (GN15 E), 380mm (GN30 E), and 572mm (GN50 E).

GN30 OC

GN30 OC is 305mm in length and has all the properties of GN30 however it is unterminated and designed for permanent installation. This gooseneck has no phantom power supply and uses 1.5-10V A-B powering.

GN15 M, GN30 M, GN50 M

Part of the DAM+ series, these goosenecks are available in lengths of 165mm (GN15 M), 300mm (GN30 M), and 500mm (GN50 M). The goosenecks require either PAE M, PAE5 M, or PAESP M phantom power module, and offer a light expander to improve the visibility of the LED ring. This use of the expander is optional.

HM1000

A hanging module designed to be ceiling mounted for the pickup of music or speech in venues such as places of worship, conference rooms, or theatre. HM1000 has a 10 metre anti-twist cable and DPA in-line XLR phantom power adapter. Includes hanging clamp and LED ring expander. 3-pin XLR termination.

H500

A shock mount designed for the permanent installation of E version, GN series goosenecks along with M versions. A ‘durable’ plastic shell houses a flexible inner rubber boot that provides ‘attenuation of structure-born noise by 12dB’. Requires hole cut out of 50mm

H600

A shock mount designed for the permanent installation of E version, GN series goosenecks as well M versions of the DAM+ series.. A ‘durable’ plastic shell houses a flexible inner rubber boot that provides ‘attenuation of structure-born noise by 20dB’. A locking clutch adds security, preventing easy removal of gooseneck. Requires hole cut out of 53mm

MF M

A flush-mount module that reduces noise created from the surface to which it is fixed. MF M is designed to integrate a power module from the DAM+ series and allow microphones to be detached when not in use. Requires a hole cut out of 50mm.

STS DAM+

A tabletop base stand for DAM+ series modules. Weighing 900g, the heavy base maintains the position of the microphone and prevents accidental movement. An integrated switch can be programmed to control push to talk, push to mute, push on/off, and low cut on/off; with the status of the control signified on the LED of the attached gooseneck. Output is by way of 3-pin XLR. Powered via 9-52V phantom power.

PHANTOM POWER MODULES

PAE M – 3-pin XLR, bass roll off

This phantom power module can be used for either fixed or temporary installation. It accepts 9-52V phantom power and has switchable bass roll-off at 250Hz – effective in the process of body noise reduction and proximity effect.

PAE5 M – 5-pin XLR, bass roll off

This phantom power module has the same properties as PAE M, however it is terminated with 5-pin XLR – allowing the audio and control voltage signals for LED to be fed separately. Pins 1, 3, and 5 are audio ground, audio in phase, and audio return respectively; and pins 2 and 4 are for the LED ring.

PAESP M – 3-pin XLR, programmable

This phantom power module includes a BCD (binary coded decimal) switch that allows the user to recall an operating mode and then adjust. Programmable modes include bass roll-off, LED ring mode, and microphone switch mode. Powered via 9-52V phantom power.

MICROPHONE CAPSULES

CK31 - Cardioid

CK31 is a pre-polarized condenser microphone capsule designed for sound reinforcement and recording. It has a pickup angle of 125 degrees and a 'wide frequency range' for a 'speech-optimized audio performance'. Requires 9-52V phantom power. CK31 is supplied with W30 windshield. Compatible with DAM series goosenecks.

CK33 - Hyper-cardioid

CK33 is designed for sound reinforcement and recording and with a pickup angle of 95 degrees the capsule is, apparently, 'a good choice in situations when noise comes from the sides or people talk into the microphone from greater distances'. It has a 'wide frequency range' for a 'speech-optimized audio performance'. Requires 9-52V phantom power. CK33 is supplied with W30 windshield. Compatible with DAM series goosenecks.

CK41 – Wide-cardioid

CK41 is compatible with DAM+ series goosenecks and offers a wide cardioid polar pattern. The frequency response of 60Hz to 20kHz is optimized for speech applications, whilst a maximum SPL of 142dB offers higher levels of input. Includes windscreen. Optional W40 M wire mesh windscreen is available to order.

CK49 – Hyper-cardioid

Designed for lectern use in presentations and theatres, CK49 is a reference condenser capsule with a hyper-cardioid pickup pattern. An 80-degree polar pattern compliments speakers that may be inexperienced in microphone use. Compatible with DAM+ series goosenecks.

CK80 - Hyper-cardioid

CK80 is suitable for speech reinforcement. The shotgun capsule offers, according to AKG, a 'speech-optimized frequency response' and 'an unbeatable price/performance ratio and good speech intelligibility in acoustically critical applications'. CK80 is supplied with W80 windshield. Compatible with DAM series goosenecks.
