These monitor units are for use in broadcast applications where there is a need for compact, rack-mounted confidence monitoring, taking up only 1U of rack space. They have, depending on model, balanced analogue inputs and AES/EBU, SDI, MADI or DANTE digital inputs, internal loudspeakers, level indication on bar-graph displays and control, configuration and monitoring via a web interface.
The MPA1 Solo DANTE offers DANTE connectivity through a single 1Gb/s, DANTE, AES67, RJ45 network port. It also has one 75 ohm BNC MADI input with optical SFP cage and one 75 ohm BNC MADI output. The MPA1 range incorporates accurate peak metering, typically used for tone line-up, displayed on two 2.4 inch OLED displays. Audio signals can also be monitored aurally, via the internal loudspeakers, with an average level of 90db at 1m, peak level of 100db at 1 metre and a frequency response of 200Hz to 20KHz. There is also a single headphone output, provided on an A gauge, 6.35mm jack socket. Alternatively, audio can also be routed to external speakers through a stereo, balanced-line output, via two, 3-pin male XLR connectors. Multiple feeds can be monitored easily using 'scroll to hear' functionality. Channels are selected by scrolling through the available inputs using a rotary control. Depressing the same control switches the currently selected input channel between mono and stereo.

MPA1 Mix products make it possible for users to create their own monitor mix, by providing eight individual level controls for multiple audio sources which can be mixed together, offering mix and listen control, with nine mix 'pallets'. These 'mix pallets' can be labelled either manually or automatically, by reading from a networked audio stream. This has the same loudspeakers as the MPA1-S, combined with a stereo power amplifier, quad source selector and a headphone output. The front panel has the same loudspeaker grilles as the MPA1-S. In the middle of the panel a rotary switch selects the input, an A-gauge, 6.35mm socket provides an output for headphones and a rotary volume control adjusts level. Inserting a jack in the headphone socket causes the loudspeakers to mute. Two 26-segment bar graph meters show the level of the selected source and an LED-illuminated switch indicates phase errors and provides a phase reverse facility. The meters are grouped with the controls in the centre of the panel; the scales are marked with both UK and EBU scales, or the scales displayed and the digital reference level can be set. The unit may also display either an EBU Digital or PPM scale and the reference level for the AES inputs may be set from -15dBFS to -24dBFS. Peak hold may be selected on or off. The rear panel has two pairs of XLR connectors providing balanced line level inputs and an additional pair for the two AES/EBU digital inputs. A coaxial socket is used for the external DC power supply input; a management bracket clips the PSU to the rear panel. The power supply is an inline type, with captive DC lead and IEC inlet for AC power.
