RoHS, WEEE & environmental legislation
The RoHS regulations are an implementation of Directive 2002/95/EC and the WEEE regulations an implementation of Directive 2002/96/EC, Directive 2003/108/EC and Directive 2008/34/EC. Clearly these directives have wide implications for suppliers as well as customers and we have tried, in true Canford style, to provide some readily digestible guidance.

WEEE - In 2007 the final set of Producer obligations under the WEEE Regulations of 2006 and 2007 came into force. Producers, both B2C and B2B, should now be fully compliant with the WEEE Directives 2002/96/EC, 2003/108/EC and 2008/34/EC and their associated national regulations. Canford has taken steps to ensure the compliance of both itself and its numerous suppliers and is registered as a producer.
Canford’s WEEE registration number is WEE/KG0116XU.
Batteries - Canford has registered with the Environment Agency as a small producer. Registration No. BPRN00208.
REACH - The latest additional SVHCs (Substances of Very High Concern) have now been added to the Candidate List produced by ECHA (European Chemicals Agency), there are now 29 substances listed which may require companies to respond with data to ECHA. See ECHA website.
