Wireless GO from Rode has been designed as a compact solution for presenters or newsgatherers whereby a quick setup and ‘broadcast-grade’ audio is required.
Available in black or white finish, Rode Wireless GO is a compact, digital wireless system with internal omnidirectional microphone and option to add Lavalier GO miniature microphone. Operating on 2.4GHz band, Wireless GO has a line of sight range of 70m and has been ‘optimised for short-range operation in congested RF environments – making it a great choice for use in conventions, hotels, and news gathering, as well as film making or broadcast interview. Rode suggest up to eight Wireless GO systems can be used in the same location.
The system can be setup very quickly, with pairing between the transmitter and receiver in ‘under three seconds’; and the internal Lithium-ion battery allows up to 7 hours of use and can be charged using the USB-C port. Both transmitter and receiver can be clipped onto clothing using the integrated clip, or optional Magclip Go magnetic clip.
The receiver has a display that shows information including setup, receiver battery life, associated transmitter battery life, wireless signal strength, output volume, and incoming audio signal. Two blue LEDs are positioned on the upper corner of the transmitter to illustrate connection and power.
Frequency range: 50Hz to 20kHz. External microphone input: 20Hz to 20kHz. Maximum output level: +3dBu. Maximum SPL: 100dB SPL, 1m. Transmission range: 70m, line of sight. Dimensions (WxHxL): 45.3 x 18.5 x 44mm, transmitter; 46.4 x 18.5 x 44mm, receiver. Weight: 31g, transmitter; 31g, receiver.
Included accessories: 1x SC2 3.5mm TRS cable, 2x USB-A to USB-C cable, 2x furry windshields, 1x carry pouch bag.
Rode Wireless GO II shares much of the functionality, and uses the same form factor as the Wireless GO system, however the receiver allows the wireless connection of two transmitters. Operating in the 2.4GHz band, with an extended (compared to Wireless GO) 200m line of sight range, and with 128-bit encryption, Wireless GO II also allows the user to record up ‘over 24 hours’ of audio onto the internal memory, with the option to record each channel separately or combine them.
The dual receiver has a display that shows information including incoming audio per channel, reception quality, battery life, volume and recording status, whilst a 3.5mm TRS output allows analogue audio connection, whilst USB-C allows for iOS digital output. The internal rechargeable Lithium-ion battery can be charged via 5V, 0.3A USB.
Frequency range: 50Hz to 20kHz. Maximum input level: -20dBV, 3.5mm input. Maximum SPL: 100dB SPL, 1m, microphone. Transmission range: 200m, line of sight. Dimensions (WxHxL): 45.3 x 18.3 x 44mm, transmitter; 45.5 x 18.3 x 44mm, receiver. Weight: 30g, transmitter; 32g, receiver.
Included accessories: 3x SC20 USB-C to USB-A cables, 1x SC5 TRS to TRS memory cable, 3x furry windshields, 1x carry pouch bag.
Available in black or white, Lavalier GO has been designed with a 3.5mm TRS jack termination, to pair with the Rode Wireless GO system, however it will work with most other devices with the same input connection. The 4.5mm capsule is omnidirectional and allows the user to extend on the range of the Wireless GO’s internal microphone and give better positioning. An included foam windshield minimises wind noise and plosives, along with adding scratch protection to the microphone. Between the microphone capsule and 3.5mm jack termination, a 1.2m Kevlar reinforced cable reduces the risk of damage whilst in use or in transit.
Frequency range: 20Hz to 20kHz. Output impedance: 3kohms, typical. Maximum SPL: 110dB. Sensitivity: -35dB.
A handheld adaptor for the Wireless GO transmitter. It allows the mounting of the transmitter via the cold shoe clip so that the user can employ as tradition interview microphone. An included foam windshield reduced wind noise and vocal plosives.
Dimensions (WxHxDia.): 42.9 x 237 x 23mm, adaptor; 73.3 x 81.6 x 73.3mm, windshield. Weight: 84g, adaptor; 8g, windshield.
A useful clip with magnet that allows the discreet positioning of the Wireless GO transmitter.
A dual cold shoe mount that gives the option of mounting a Wireless GO receiver and an on-camera microphone onto the cold shoe of the camera. The mount is manufactured from aluminium and includes a cable management slot for the optional SC11 cable.
Compatible with Rode products including Wireless GO, VideoMic NTG, VideoMicro, VideoMic, VideoMic Pro, VideoMic Pro+, VideoMic GO, Stereo VideoMic, Stereo VideoMic Pro, and Stereo VideoMic X.
Dimensions (WxHxD): 92 x 22 x 21mm. Weight: 42.7g.
A 275.5mm TRS splitter cable that allows two mono signals, from different sources, to be input into a single stereo signal. This is particularly useful when used in conjunction with DCS-1 mount and dual microphones, along with single recording source such as DSLR. The split cable is coloured red and black, with the red side recording to the right channel of the audio, and the black side recording to the left audio channel. These can then be mixed as mono sources in post.
