Designed for commercial audio applications such as hotels, leisure, bars and restaurants, this range of convection cooled Lab Gruppen amplifiers offer options of low impedance, 70V, or 100V line output.
The amplifier’s half-width, 19 inch form allows for positioning on or under a desktop, in a rack enclosure – using 1U vertical space; or wall mounted using the included rubber feet or rack-mounting brackets. Two amplifiers can be mounted side-by-side using the same hardware.
Functionality of the amplifiers include automatic on/off which enters the amplifier into sleep mode after twenty minutes of zero signal, and then uses ‘auto ramp’ circuitry to detect a signal and resume normal operation. The amplifier can also be switched between standby mode and normal operation from the power button on the front facing panel. Along with the power button, the front facing panel has a rotary controller to adjust the master output level, and individual controls for bass and treble. These two controls require a flat tool, such as a screwdriver, to adjust the settings. Power on is represented by way of blue LED, whilst forced standby mode is by way of red LED, and sleep mode by way of yellow LED. Amplifiers with two output channels have duplicate controls for each channel.
The rear facing panel of the amplifier has an IEC input for 100-240V AC mains input, two-pin Euroblock output connector, dip switches to adjust the output type from 70V/100V/4ohm/8ohm, and a dip switch to engage or disengage the fixed 80Hz high-pass filter – often employed to avoid saturation and maintain sound integrity when using transformer-enabled speakers running on a constant voltage line. Dual 10kohm, unbalanced RCA (phono) inputs are provided for a mono summed direct connection to media players, along with a 20kohm, balanced three-pin Euroblock input. Finally, a RJ45 connection allows the use of optional remote controls such as the LAB.LEVEL. Amplifiers with two output channels have all connections duplicated, with the exception of the mains IEC input.
