Designed to solve all the synchronisation issues found in video and audio production, this range will genlock to HD tri-level sync and SD bi-level sync video signals, AES and word-clock digital audio reference signals, LTC from video or audio time code or a GPS reference clock. Multiple outputs for HD video, SD video, AES audio and word clock are generated internally and electronically buffered. Options are offered separately to enhance performance to a AES-3 Grade 1 reference, and to provide redundancy with dual power supplies.
The input reference may be selected, video formats are auto detected. All HD frame rates may be selected in progressive scan and interlaced 1080 or 720 modes, when internal mode is selected. The relevant SD frame is automatically generated to feed the SD outputs. HD and SD outputs can reproduce any video input reference or be set to the internal master house sync. Simultaneous AES and word clock outputs are genlocked and phase coherent to the input reference. Pull up/down sample rates are adjustable to suit all film, video and audio applications. True DDS direct digital synthesis leads to ultra-low jitter performance and ultra high frequency stability.
The front panel has status indicators for the two power supplies (one as standard), and six separate control areas. All controls are momentary push buttons, which toggle through available settings, indicated by LEDs. The sync source area allows selection of internal, video and clock sources. The video reference may be SD or HD. The clock reference may be AES, word clock, GPS or LTC. The 'Tri-Level Sync output' section offers the choice of 1080p, 1080i, 720p modes, and eight different frame rates. Two LEDs indicate input or internal source. Two further areas independently set video SPG and digital reference outputs. The lock control area has a recessed 'lockout' switch to defeat the controls on the front panel.
The rear panel has an IEC power inlet with adjacent switch. External reference inputs are a pair of RCA(phono) connectors for LTC input and loop-out, a female XLR connector for AES audio input, four BNC connectors provide word-clock, GPS and HD/SD inputs, HD/SD loop out. Six BNC connectors offer three HD and three SD video outlets. A further six provide four 1x, one 2x and one 4x word clock outputs. Four male XLR connectors are used for the AES outputs. A 9-pin D-sub connector is used for a general purpose interface providing PSU output or lost-lock status; contacts close to signal a fail condition.

SyncroGenius HD Pro - Genlock or Video, AES and Word Clock
The HD Pro version has all the features of the SyncroGenius HD, with the following additions. All video and clock outputs may be genlocked from any selected video or clock reference input. The genlocked outputs are locked in frequency and phase to the reference input. All SD and HD frame rates are independently selectable and are available as separate outputs. There is one extra control area on the front panel. The 'Memory' section allows up to three individual input/output configurations to be saved and recalled locally or by remote control; the general purpose interface has additional opto-isolated inputs and tally outputs for this.

AES-3 Grade 1 Reference Upgrade
This uses a crystal in an oven to maintain long term accuracy. This option must be factory-fitted, so should be specified at the time of order. Alternatively the SyncroGenius may be returned to the factory for fitting. Return carriage charges will apply.
Extra Power Supply - Redundancy
A module which fits inside the standard chassis. This option must be factory-fitted, so should be specified at the time of order. Alternatively the SyncroGenius may be returned to the factory for fitting. Return carriage charges will apply.
